SCE总裁平井一夫日前在接受半官方的神机Blog“threespeech”（“三人成虎”）的访谈时表示，可能会改变此前索尼全球工作室总裁菲尔·哈里森（嗯，那个光头，现在转投Atari的那个）关于不给独占作品额外补贴的做法。
他说：“关于这个问题我们的确有重新计议的空间。但是这个问题主要是看发行商的商业决策。说到底这是一种谈判，如果选择独占对他们有利，那他们就要做出这种商业抉择。但一般情况下，由于第三方在本轮硬件上的巨大投资，要让他们做出（独占）的决定是比较困难的。”
“我们和第三方比较可能发生的谈判是这样，对他们说：‘OK，就算不独占，我们能不能共同努力让PS3版本比其他版本更吸引消费者？’”
“不要把脸转过去么，你看，出在蓝光碟子上的游戏都能有50GB的容量，我们何不放点幕后制作花絮啊，或者额外关卡之类的东西。此外，现在这一点变得重要起来，即我们第一方必须推出一些口碑相传（envelope-pushing）、重新定义类型（genre-defining）的游戏内容。”
SCE president Kaz Hirai says that Sony may consider the possibility of shelling out to secure exclusive third party releases for PlayStation 3, while the company will be pushing for exclusive content on PS3 versions of multiplatform titles.
During an interview with with semi-official PlayStation blog threespeech Hirai was asked if he would consider reversing ex-worldwide studios boss Phil Harrison’s policy of not paying for exclusives. He told the site that it was an option, but also acknowledged that it was usually more financially viable for publishers to release their games on multiple platforms.
“That’s something that we can re-evaluate,” he said, “but it’s also something that the publishers need to make a business decision on. Ultimately, it becomes a dialogue – if it makes sense for them to go exclusive, that’s a business decision that they need to make. But generally speaking, because of the investments that publishers need to make in this round of hardware, it’s going to be more difficult for publishers to make that decision.”
What’s more likely, Hirai said, is that developers will leverage the capacity of the Blu-ray format to create exclusive PS3 content for multiplatform games.
“Where we come into the picture is to have that dialogue with the third party publishers, to say: ‘OK, what can we do together if it’s not exclusive that makes the PS3 version of the game more compelling for the consumers than any other version?’
“Let’s face it – all the games are coming out on a Blu-ray disk which has 50Gb capacity, so let’s put in some making-of content, or maybe additional levels. Also, it really becomes important for the first party studios to really come up with some envelope-pushing, genre-defining content.”
